ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT 2007-2013
A high quality of activities connected with the organisation and assessment of student placements will be ensured through:
1. activity of the AMU Students & Graduates Job Guidance Office ('Career Office'),
2. organising placements in well-tested Polish enterprises and institutions (for foreign students) and firms co-operating with or recommended by foreign partners (for Polish students), signing bilateral agreements,
3. recruiting students on the basis of their learning achievements, knowledge of the language, consistency of the placement with the direction of study, job predispositions,
4. fulfilling formal requirements by students (documentation, insurance),
5. written specification of each individual placement programme,
6. signing a trilateral agreement describing the requirements each side has to meet and the mode of placement recognition and assessment,
7. constant contact with the placement co-ordinator in the firm/institution,
8. preparing interim placement progress reports,
9. defining conditions necessary for a positive assessment of a placement:
9.1. subject matter of placement closely related to direction of study,
9.2. placement schedule arranged with agreement co-ordinator and faculty authorities,
9.3. presentation by student of placement report,
9.4. positive opinion and assessment of placement by host firm,
9.5. decision of Deputy Dean for Student Affairs to recognise placement as completed.
10. introducing rules of arranging and recognising foreign placements of students under the Erasmus programme:
10.1. foreign placement arranged in period free of regular classes of academic year or, on Dean's approval, also during semester,
10.2. completion of placements and scoring ECTS points for them in accordance with programme of study,
10.3. possibility of doing long-term practice abroad and earning additional ECTS points for it, the points not being basis for successful completion of semester, but treated as student's individual achievement and listed in diploma supplement.
