RECTOR:

1. Supervises finances which are led by a bursary
2. Appoints the candidates for extraordinary professorial positions
3. Appoints the candidates for academic non-professorial positions upon the recommendation of the Faculty Council
4. Appoints an Administration's Director

SENATE:

Rector as a president of the Senate
Vice-rectors
Deans of the faculties
43 representatives of the faculties
representatives of the students
representatives of non-academic staff

1. Establishes the main policy of the institution
2. Ratifies institution's statute in the case of autonomous schools and submits for approval to Minister of National Education in the case of non-autonomous institution
3. Ratifies a budget of the institution
4. Opens a new study field
5. Establishes a new faculty and a new study field institute which must fulfill certain criteria with respect to the number of professors
6. Ratifies the international cooperation agreements

ADMINISTRATION:

Director supervises administratively all administration's departments

FACULTIES - the basic organizational units:

Faculty consists of disciplinary institutes, chairs, laboratories
Faculty of the autonomous institutions has a right to establish its own curriculum
Faculty must give an agreement to employ an academic staff
Faculty takes decision for conferring a professorial title, which after being approved by Central Committee for Titles and Degrees is presented to the President of Poland for nomination
